Change is good. . .

This is another of the wonderful pieces I found in the thrift store box of goodies. It's a huge painting of an otherworldly being using beautiful metallic colors on plain brown paper, and it really speaks to how I'm feeling today.

I've been up and down a lot lately, and this blog was created to help me discover what I want to do with the rest of my life. I'm getting closer to knowing.

"Along the way, all of us are

going to have to negotiate

a succession of choices

between the possibilities

of independence

and the seduction of dependence."

~ Marjorie Williams (1958 - 2005), journalist and feminist

I once was a feminist, I turned into June Cleaver, and now I need to take my independence back.

This blog has been a very personal journey for me. Along the way I've met some truly wonderful people who have stopped by to comment and/or e-mail me. You are all very special to me.

I have some major decisions to make, and I'll probably be making some big changes in my life in the future. This blog will continue, but I'm not sure the direction it will be taking. It might change a lot, or it might change very little. But I know my life will be changing, and that's the important thing. A blog is just a blog. Life is LIFE!

But one thing I know for sure, the words of Franz Kafka have never had so much meaning for me:

"There are some things

one can only achieve

by a deliberate leap

in the opposite direction."

"What lies behind us

and what lies before us

are tiny matters

compared to what lies within us."

- Ralph Waldo Emerson
