I recently had a birthday and treated myself to some new art supplies. (Happy Birthday to ME!) I have been reading so much about Inktense watercolour pencils lately, and they sounded like something I might like to try. They are wonderful! It's so easy to combine drawing techniques with painting techniques - I've only tried them once, but they are now one of my favorite things!
I painted my first Frida with them today. Like so many, many other people, I really admire her strength and her art, and I recently found a little book with a self-portrait she did with her parrots in 1941. Since I've been researching endangered species, I substituted the endangered Mexican Green-Cheeked Parrot for the ones she painted.
I can't wait to work with the Intense pencils again!
