Mellow

I adore October in Wisconsin.  One of my favorite things to do is to visit Holy Hill, a national shrine and basilica which sits on the highest hill in this part of Wisconsin.

It's always a peaceful and beautiful place to visit, since it's surrounded by acres of wooded countryside and farmlands.

The last few years we haven't had the brilliant red, orange and yellow leaves I remember from years ago, but even the muted colors are spectacular.

You don't have to be Catholic, or even Christian, to appreciate the beauty of the basilica.

And my snap-happy finger took the following picture of the side of the building without the rest of me knowing about it.  I think it's actually one of my favorite photos.

Closer to home, this is the maple tree behind our house.  The photos were taken three weeks in a row.

And, finally, here are a few others things that caught my eye closer to home during the last week.

I hope you have something pleasant to look at, wherever you may find yourself.
