Elder Wisdom

What is man
without the animals?
If all the beasts
were gone, man would die
from a great
loneliness of spirit.
For whatever happens
to the beasts,
soon happens to man.
-Chief Seattle

I have always been drawn to the wisdom of the elders of the past, especially those who have a strong connection to the earth. I recently found these pictures that I had done years ago, and thought they would illustrate Chief Seattle's wise words quite well.

His warning is even more meaningful today, as we hear almost daily of another species of plant or animal becoming threatened, endangered or extinct.
